Charlotte - Mecklenburg 1941 - 1946
Click

When America went to war in December of 1941, the citizens of Mecklenburg County were called upon to do their part at home or in service. Some joined groups to support the war effort. Others worked in our ammunition plant. Many enlisted or were drafted to fight in the war. It was a unique time in history, and each person had his or her own story to tell about how the war affected them.

This exhibit is dedicated to the men, women and children who served their families and communities in the war effort.
